Key Market Data
Taiwan data around 2026-07-08 11:53 CST; TraderXYZ/Hyperliquid uses 24h HIP-3 RWA perpetual data.
Taiwan market and TSMC
Taiwan Weighted traded near 45,474.70 versus a 45,479.11 prior close. TSMC opened at NT$2445, traded between NT$2420 and NT$2455, with NT$2500 still the key resistance. July 10 revenue and July 16 earnings call are more important than intraday noise.
U.S. and global semis
MarketWatch reported the PHLX semiconductor index down about 4.7% and below its 50-day moving average for the first time since April, while SOXX is about 16% off late-June highs. This looks more like valuation reset than AI demand failure.
TraderXYZ / Hyperliquid flows
SKHX rose 5.51% on about $774M turnover; MU rose 0.80% on about $381M; SNDK rose 0.65% on about $332M; DRAM rose 1.39% on about $159M. Yet AMD, MRVL, INTC and SPCX were weak, showing selective repair rather than broad semiconductor risk-on.
Institutions and market views
UBS remains constructive on Micron and storage shortages, while MarketWatch emphasizes chip momentum cooling. Samsung’s strong expected profit but weak share reaction shows the new rule: strong earnings need even stronger guidance.
Macro context
Oil strengthened sharply, with CL and Brent both up around 4.8%-5.0% on TraderXYZ. If energy strength persists, it can lift inflation pressure and limit tech valuation expansion.
Contrarian view
Semiconductor weakness does not mean the AI cycle is over. It likely marks the shift from indiscriminate buying to verification of orders, margins, capex ROI and valuation discipline.
